Volumisation using Emervel Volume™ and Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ at dermalclinic®, Edinburgh

Volumising dermal fillers use advanced technology, hyaluronic acid, used to volumize areas of the face. As we all age the natural appearance of the face changes. Our skull changes shape – the eye socket becomes larger and the jaw bone decreases in size, which both lead to changes in the way the skin sits on top of the bony structures. We all have fat pads that sit mainly in the mid face and assist in the way the skin profiles across our face. When a younger patient presents to dermalclinic®, there is often a small increase in shadowing around the Nasolabial fold (nose to mouth line) but nothing requiring a larger lifting capacity and for these patients a lighter dermal filler can be used such as JuvedermUltra, Emervel Volume™ or Belotero.

In slightly more mature patients the fixing points of the face such as the fat pads have been affected by the bone reabsorption mentioned above, the loss of hydration and the effects of gravity.

Emervel Volume™ and Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ are especially designed to replace volume and provide a lifting effect. The areas treated with Emervel Volume™ and Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ can include the cheeks, temples and chin area.

When this volume is replaced using Emervel Volume™ or Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™, the results are immediate. By restoring mid face volume in the cheek area for example, the lower part of the face will also be enhanced. Patients, who are concerned about a flattening of the cheeks and/or the appearance of jowls, will really benefit from this treatment.

Results from treatment with Emervel Volume™ or Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ will last approximately 18 months.

Jackie Partridge BSc(Derm) RGN NIP is a trainer of Doctors, Dentist and Nurses across Scotland for this procedure, and as such you can be assured of great results being safely achieved.
