About Dr karolina
Dr Karolina Skorupskaite Carlyle
MBChB BSc (Hons) PhD MRCOG
Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecology
Leading the way in reproductive medicine.
Dr Karolina is leading the change to more personalised fertility care. Dr Karolina has achieved sub-specialist accreditation in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School with 1st class BSc Honours in Reproductive Biology, and holds a PhD in the human reproductive system.
Her pioneering research has spurred the development of new reproductive health medications, contributing to the University of Edinburgh's receipt of The Queen’s Anniversary Prizes for innovations in women’s health.
As lead author of the British Fertility Society guideline for the management of endometriosis related infertility, Dr Karolina is helping to improve care for patients with some of the most challenging fertility conditions.
Dr Karolina is a consultant at NHS Lothian, where she is also a fertility preservation lead and fertility lead at EXPPECT endometriosis.
